New C6-technology with fluorocarbon compounds by RUDOLF GROUP
At the same price as the C8-technology
The prerequisite for very good water and oil-repellent effects is always a certain perfluoroalkyl side chain length. RUDOLF products offer optimum, state-of-the-art effects with an average chain length of 8 carbon atoms (C8-side chains). Although fluorocarbon polymers, if produced according to telomerisation, do not contain any PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonic acid) and are PFOA-optimised (perfluorooctanoic acid <1 ppm), they cannot be called entirely PFOA-free.
The media again and again report of a ban of PFOS-containing chemicals strived for in the European Union. Apart from PFOS-free finishes customers do also aim at PFOA-free finishes. RUDOLF GROUP has therefore further optimised the ®RUCOSTAR product range by complementing it with new products of the so-called C6-technology. Perfluoroalkyl monomers from telomerisation with a chain length of 6 carbon atoms are used for that. Fluorocarbons made from C6-monomers are PFOS and PFOA-free.
The production of C6-monomers is very cost and time-consuming. RUDOLF GROUP has succeeded in optimising the effect/cost level by incorporating hyperbranched dendrimers. Thus, C6-modified fluorocarbon products can be ecologically optimised and are competitive - at equal effects and equal durability.
